Relief for migrant employees working in Australia! The Aussie government has said that the restrictions placed on migrant workers in search for new employment have been relaxed. Is there any change? The significant change is to increase the immigration grace period from 60 to 180 days after the sponsored workers cease employment but before breaching any visa conditions.
Moreover, the total duration is a maximum of 365 days up to the time of the visa grant period. Workers can take any reasonable employment without violating their visa regulations, even though they may not be exercising their last approved employment.
Before, those with Temporary Work (Skilled) visas (subclass 457), Temporary Skill Shortage visas (subclass 482), and Employer Nominated Scheme Skilled Independent visa (subclass 494) had only a limited time to make a new sponsor, apply for a different visa, or depart from the country.

Key Changes in Australia Visa Flexibility

Extended period for new employment: Now you have a grace period from 60 to 180 days or a maximum of 365 days grant period to apply for a new visa, get sponsorship or make your departure arrangement according to your needs.

Employment Flexibility: During this duration, the visa holders can apply for other employment, such as employment not mentioned in your recently approved sponsorship nomination. You’re refrained from applying for jobs without any licence or registration that they do not have with them.
