Oxford University Press and Learnlight Team Up to Transform English Language Education

Learnlight and Oxford University Press have partnered to offer an English language training programme designed to help organisations worldwide attract global talent. The programme, called Aspire, aligns with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and utilises the Oxford Placement Test to ensure learners are appropriately placed. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate from Learnlight in collaboration with Oxford University Press.

“Growing trends in international recruitment highlight a lack of technical skills among applicants, leading organisations to engage with non-native employees,” said Benjamin Joseph, Founder and CEO of Learnlight. “Aspire addresses the challenge of attracting international talent and provides language support specifically tailored for candidates who will be communicating in a second language.”

The programme focuses on vocational and spoken English, covering vocabulary relevant to the learners’ work environments, alongside business simulations facilitated by instructors.

Joseph emphasises that Aspire allows organisations to be as inclusive in practice as they are in policy by integrating language training support into their operations.

A 2024 report by the International Data Corporation noted that digital tools could help businesses connect with a global talent pool, revealing that 80% of Learnlight users reached a professional level of English proficiency.

The training is delivered online and can be tailored to fit employees’ schedules across different time zones, using artificial intelligence to provide quizzes and feedback for each learner.
In January of this year, Oxford University Press introduced a new online test for learners at CEFR levels B2 to C1, aimed at helping them succeed in further education and subsequent working life.

The Aspire programme, backed by the esteemed reputations of Learnlight and Oxford University Press in the field of English language education, includes regular progress assessments and a final evaluation to measure overall language advancement.
