Arizona State University (ASU), United States, has announced that its new health headquarters will be located in downtown Phoenix. The state-of-the-art facility will serve as a hub for ASU’s efforts to advance healthcare education, research, and patient outcomes. The headquarters is expected to open by the autumn 2028 semester.

ASU President Michael Crow stated:

“We’re not just building a medical school or a public health school. We’re leveraging the most innovative university in the United States to tackle modern healthcare challenges. This new headquarters will be the centre of that mission.”

The facility will be located at the Phoenix Bioscience Core, spanning a 30-acre site. It will house ASU’s Advanced Medical Engineering and the School of Medicine, training future healthcare professionals in medicine, technology, and data science.

Cecilia Mata, Chair of the Arizona Board of Regents, highlighted the impact of the project, stating:

“This headquarters will integrate cutting-edge analytical tools, data science, and innovative care practices to improve health outcomes across communities.”

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego also praised the initiative, adding that ASU Health will address workforce shortages and contribute significantly to the economy:

“Within a decade, this initiative will create nearly 200,000 jobs and add $19 billion to Arizona’s GDP.”

The university aims to train the next generation of doctors, nurses, and healthcare technologists by incorporating artificial intelligence and data-driven research into healthcare practices. Dr Sherine Gabriel, ASU Health’s Executive Vice-President, emphasised the need for innovation in medical education, stating:

“Traditional medical and public health schools may not best serve the future. We need to integrate technology disciplines to drive healthcare forward.”

With this initiative, Arizona State University reinforces its commitment to transforming healthcare in the United States, ensuring a skilled workforce and improved medical outcomes for residents.
