The University of Copenhagen in Denmark is now accepting applications for the esteemed BRIDGE Translational Excellence Programme, a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in translational medicine. Supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, the BRIDGE Fellowship trains PhD graduates in transforming biomedical research innovations into clinical applications. The deadline for applications is 15 February 2024.

The programme, launched in 2019, focuses on bridging the gap between medical research and patient care. Now in its third phase, BRIDGE III will select fellows annually from 2024 to 2027. Core elements of the fellowship include research, mentoring, and education, conducted primarily at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (SUND) at the University of Copenhagen. Fellows work closely with mentors whose labs provide critical resources and support to advance their research.

The fellowship aims to produce leaders in translational medicine, equipped to apply cutting-edge techniques to clinical practice. Testimonials from past fellows, such as Dr. Lærke Gasbjerg and Dr. Grith Stougaard Højfeldt, highlight the programme’s impact on fostering independence, collaboration, and confidence as researchers.

All courses are conducted in English, making this programme accessible to international candidates. The BRIDGE Fellowship provides a unique career opportunity for aspiring scientists seeking to contribute to the advancement of medical treatments worldwide.
