Cambridge Education Group has announced a new partnership with Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, launching the University Pathway Programme, Propaedeutic Year One. Set to begin in September 2025 at OnCampus Amsterdam, the programme aims to strengthen the Netherlands’ appeal as a top destination for international students amid recent cuts to international education funding.

The Propaedeutic Year One will be delivered in English, ensuring accessibility for both EU and non-EU students despite proposed government restrictions on non-Dutch-taught courses. The programme provides a clear path for international students to earn a bachelor’s degree at Wittenborg, with additional options for those who complete the Dutch University Entrance Exam.

David Johnston, CEO of Cambridge Education Group, noted that “The Netherlands continues to be a leading destination for international students,” and emphasised the partnership’s commitment to offering diverse and quality educational opportunities.

The programme offers 60 ECTS credits, giving graduates direct access to Dutch universities, including 11 institutions in the top 250 QS World University Rankings. Through the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, students can also access multiple universities across Europe, further enhancing their academic options.

Peter Birdsall, President of Wittenborg, highlighted the initiative’s broader goal, saying it will “promote and support progression to the wider higher education sector.” This collaboration underscores both institutions’ commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering international academic mobility.
