In a move set to benefit Indian aspirants aiming for world-class education, Macquarie University in Australia has announced the Early Acceptance Scholarship, offering up to AUD $40,000 to Indian students enrolling in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the 2025 and 2026 intakes.

The scholarship, which provides AUD $10,000 annually, will support tuition fees for eligible students studying at the university’s Sydney campus. The maximum grant—AUD $40,000—will be awarded to those enrolling in four-year bachelor’s programmes. Importantly, students applying to any programme at Macquarie University will be automatically considered for the scholarship, with selections based on academic merit.

Fields covered under the scheme include Banking and Finance, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Analytics, Medicine, Arts and Media, and Communication.

To be eligible, applicants must be citizens of India, have accepted a letter of offer, and paid the commencement fee by the specified deadline. Additionally, they must remain enrolled throughout all required study periods and must not be receiving another full government scholarship, unless specially approved by Macquarie University’s Scholarship Team.

David Harrison, Executive Director, International at Macquarie University, shared the institution’s excitement: “We are proud to offer the Early Acceptance Scholarship to talented and ambitious Indian students. This initiative reflects our commitment to accessible, high-quality education and the nurturing of global talent.”

He further added, “By investing early in promising individuals, we aim to empower them with the skills and international exposure required to succeed in today’s interconnected world. We look forward to welcoming the next generation of leaders and innovators to our campus.”

Ranked among the top 130 universities globally (QS and Times Higher Education Rankings 2024), Macquarie University continues to enhance its international footprint, with India being a key region in its global engagement strategy. This scholarship underscores the university’s dedication to strengthening Australia-India educational ties.
