The University of Birmingham has unveiled over 50 scholarships for Indian students in honour of its 125 Years of Excellence. These scholarships are for postgraduate taught (PGT) Master’s degrees starting in September 2025, with funding amounts ranging from £4,000 to £5,000.

Scholarship Details

The £4,000 awards are open to all eligible students enrolling in most postgraduate Master’s programmes, except for MSc Management, MSc International Business, MSc Marketing, and MBA. Notably, there is no limit to the number of £4,000 scholarships available. For high-achieving Indian students, the £5,000 awards are offered under the India Chancellor’s Scholarship programme, applicable to all Master’s programmes, including business disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Apply for and receive an offer for a taught Master’s degree at the University of Birmingham’s UK campus for the 2025/26 academic year.
  • Be domiciled in one of the eligible countries, including India, Chile, Kenya, and several others.
  • Be overseas fee payers and commence their full-time studies in September or October 2025.
  • Programmes like the MBA, MSc Management, MSc Marketing, and MSc International Business are excluded from this scholarship.

Application Process

For the £4,000 scholarship, eligible students will automatically have this amount deducted from their tuition fees upon paying the admission deposit by the specified deadline. There is no separate application required. However, candidates for the India Chancellor’s Scholarship must apply and be shortlisted based on academic merit.

The deadline to apply for these scholarships is May 2025. Interested students should visit the University of Birmingham’s official website for more information on eligibility and the application process.

This initiative reinforces the University of Birmingham’s commitment to supporting Indian students and bridging the gap in higher education funding.
