The University of Southampton Delhi has announced a landmark collaboration with Comviva, a global leader in digital solutions, to nurture and empower India’s emerging tech talent. This partnership is set to offer students paid summer internships, placement opportunities, and access to real-world industry experience.

The alliance, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry. It will focus on talent development, collaborative innovation, and community engagement — key pillars to prepare the next generation of skilled professionals in India.

Professor Andrew Atherton, Vice-President (International and Engagement) at the University of Southampton, said, “This partnership with Comviva reflects our ongoing commitment to create meaningful, career-focused opportunities for our students in India. Through this collaboration, we aim to equip our graduates with the skills and experience required to succeed in a global workplace.”

Comviva CEO Rajesh Chandiramani noted, “This collaboration with the University of Southampton reflects our commitment to nurturing future-ready talent, fostering innovation, and supporting inclusive growth. It is a key pillar of our Comviva 2.0 vision to empower young minds and co-create solutions for real-world challenges.”

Students at the University of Southampton Delhi — which begins its first intake in August 2025 — will benefit from structured engagements led by Comviva throughout the academic year. These will include skill development workshops, employer talks, and drop-in sessions for direct student-industry interaction.

Initially, the Delhi campus will offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computing, economics, business, and finance, with plans to expand into engineering, healthcare, social sciences, and more.

This UK-India collaboration underscores a growing emphasis on industry-academic partnerships that prepare students for the demands of a rapidly evolving digital world. By integrating practical experience with academic learning, the partnership is expected to drive innovation and long-term impact for India’s technology ecosystem.
