University of Manchester Opens Applications for MSc in Climate Change: Science, Society and Solutions

The University of Manchester is inviting Indian students to apply for its MSc in Climate Change: Science, Society, and Solutions, with admissions now open for the 2025 intake. This interdisciplinary programme, led by the Department of Geography, offers students the opportunity to gain expertise in tackling the challenges of climate change, with a focus on scientific, societal, and political contexts.

The course provides a unique perspective on climate change, covering crucial areas such as solar geoengineering, greenhouse gas reduction, and climate policy. Students will also develop communication and research skills, equipping them to address human-induced climate challenges. The programme offers flexibility, with students selecting three elective units from a wide range of disciplines, including the School of Social Sciences, Geography, and School of Environment.

The tuition fee for international students is £31,000 per annum. The programme prepares graduates for careers in climate policy, climate change innovations in business, NGOs, and academic research.

To be eligible for the course, applicants must hold a three-year bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 60%, and an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 6.

The university offers a range of scholarships for international students, including the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship and the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence, supporting students from India.
