The University of Western Australia (UWA) has launched the Global Excellence Scholarship, inviting high-achieving international students to apply for this prestigious award, worth up to AUD 48,000. The scholarship aims to attract top talent from around the world to study in Australia, specifically in courses commencing in Semester 1, 2025.

Eligible undergraduate students can receive up to AUD 48,000 over four years, while postgraduate students may secure up to AUD 24,000 over two years. The scholarship provides a tuition fee discount, with its value determined by the student’s Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or UWA Weighted Average Mark (WAM), as outlined in the official notification.

No separate application is required for the Global Excellence Scholarship. All applicants for eligible courses will be automatically assessed for the scholarship based on their academic standing and programme eligibility.

To qualify, international students must hold an offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate programme starting on or after 1 September 2025. A minimum ATAR of 85.00 or WAM of 65.00 is required, while students on an approved International Academic Pathway must achieve a WAM equivalent of over 75.00.

Combined Bachelor’s and Master’s (CBM) students enrolled in longer programmes, such as the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and Bachelor of Science, may be eligible for up to AUD 60,000 over five years, depending on academic performance.

The scholarship reflects UWA’s commitment to fostering global educational excellence and inclusivity in Australia.
