Uzbekistan Announces Fully-Funded Master’s Scholarships for Indian Students

The Republic of Uzbekistan has opened applications for five fully-funded scholarships exclusively for Indian graduates to pursue Master’s degrees at the prestigious Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand for the academic year 2025–26.

These scholarships are aimed at students interested in fields such as Tourism and Hospitality, Archaeology, Museum Studies, Restoration, and Management. All programmes will be delivered in English.

Successful applicants will benefit from a comprehensive scholarship package that includes:

  • Round-trip economy airfare (once a year)
  • A monthly stipend of USD 500
  • Accommodation support up to USD 100 per month
  • Two annual cultural trips within Uzbekistan, each with a USD 100 travel allowance

To be eligible, applicants must submit the following documents by the August 1, 2025 deadline via admissions. univ-silkroad.uz:

  • A valid passport or ID
  • Bachelor’s degree certificate
  • CV and recent photograph
  • English proficiency certificate (IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL iBT 72 / CEFR B2), unless undergraduate studies were conducted in English
  • A 1–1.5 page essay titled “Contributing to the development of tourism of the SCO countries”

The Silk Road International University offers a smart campus with modern academic and leisure facilities, including hotel rooms, a bar-restaurant, a digital library, a gym, and a swimming pool. The university also partners with several globally renowned institutions to ensure international academic standards.

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, clarified that it has no role in the nomination or selection process. Final admissions and scholarship decisions will be made by the Government of Uzbekistan.

This initiative marks a continuing effort by Uzbekistan to build strong educational and cultural ties with India and to promote cross-border expertise in tourism and cultural heritage sectors, key to Uzbekistan’s long-term development strategy.
