Shiv Nadar University and Arizona State University Launch New Dual BSc Programme
Shiv Nadar University and Arizona State University (ASU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on various academic programmes, including liberal arts and interdisciplinary courses. The partnership begins with two undergraduate double major programmes in Computer Science and Business Data Analytics. Students enrolled in these four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) courses will spend the first two years at Shiv Nadar University, India and the next two years at ASU, USA.
“This marks the beginning of a strategic partnership with one of the world’s top 1% universities,” commented Professor Ananya Mukherjee, Vice Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University. “We aim to develop graduates who can envision a new world, and international collaborations are essential for this. These courses will help create global leaders and innovators.”
Susan Edgington, ASU’s Executive Director and Head of Operations for Global Academic Initiatives, stated, “We are committed to providing access to students across various sectors, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and global relevance, among other areas.” In the past year, 145,000 students have registered at ASU. For the 2024 fall session, ASU anticipates admitting 41,000 new students.
The total enrolment is expected to exceed 150,000 students across various levels of learning institutions, with over ten percent being international students from more than 150 countries. ASU offers over 800 degree programmes, providing students with a wide range of choices. The faculty at ASU includes five Nobel laureates, 11 MacArthur Fellows, 10 Pulitzer Prize winners, and 23 members of the National Academy of Sciences.
