The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), or German Academic Exchange Service, is a German organisation that supports international academic exchange. It offers scholarships to foreign graduates in any field of study who have at least two years of professional experience, enabling them to pursue a postgraduate or Master’s degree at a state or state-accredited university in Germany.

The scholarships are awarded based on academic level: €935 (approximately ₹85,000) per month for graduates, or €1,300 (approximately ₹119,000) per month for doctoral candidates. The scholarship also covers health, accident, and personal liability insurance premiums.

Additionally, the scholarship provides a travel allowance for costs not covered by the home country or any other financial sources. Scholars may also receive other benefits such as a monthly rent allowance and support for dependents, if necessary. The duration of the scholarship ranges from 12 to 42 months, depending on the study programme.
