The Rhodes Trust, in partnership with the Radhakrishnan-Rajan family, has introduced a sixth Rhodes Scholarship specifically for Indian students. Starting in 2026, six Indian scholars will have the opportunity to pursue their studies at the University of Oxford each year through this prestigious scholarship programme.

The newly added scholarship is set to enhance opportunities for talented Indian students aiming to join the global Rhodes community. Below are the key details:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be Indian citizens holding a valid Indian passport or equivalent proof of citizenship.
  • Candidates must have completed their formal education in India for at least four out of the last ten years.
  • Applicants should have either completed a school-leaving exam (10th or 12th standard) at a school in India or be in the final year of an undergraduate degree at an Indian university.
  • For candidates pursuing a medical degree or undergoing a one-year internship (CRRI), the age limit is extended by one year.

Documents Required:

  • Birth certificate and a copy of a valid passport.
  • Official transcript from the college or university.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing academic and extracurricular achievements.
  • A personal statement not exceeding 1,000 words.
  • Head-and-shoulders colour photograph (jpg format).
