Dr Jaishankar Inaugurates Symbiosis International University Campus in Dubai

Dubai, UAE: External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar inaugurated Symbiosis International University’s first overseas campus at Dubai Knowledge Park, marking a milestone in educational collaboration between India and the UAE.
During the ceremony, Dr Jaishankar highlighted its importance in strengthening India-UAE ties. The new campus will offer programmes in Technology, Management, and Media and Communications, aiming to deliver the same quality education Symbiosis is renowned for in India. He emphasised the growing educational cooperation between the two nations, noting that over 300,000 students benefit from the Indian curriculum in international Indian schools across the UAE.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, also attended the event. He stressed the role of education in fostering mutual understanding, justice, and tolerance, crucial for global stability.
Dr Jaishankar underscored the campus as a symbol of India’s efforts towards globalisation. “A university setting up a campus abroad is not just a bold step but a commitment to connecting India with the world through education,” he said.
The minister also acknowledged the transformative opportunities for students in the era of AI, green technologies, and electric mobility, urging them to embrace these challenges with their education.
This initiative reflects the deepening India-UAE partnership, building on shared goals in trade, investment, and cultural exchange, further strengthening the “living bridges” between the two nations.
