Australia’s Destination Scholarship: University of Queensland Offers AUD 7,500 Per Semester

The University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia is now accepting applications for the Destination Australia Scholarship for Semester 1, 2025. The scholarship, funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Education, promotes regional education and supports the National Strategy for International Education 2025.
Eligible international students will receive AUD 7,500 (approximately ₹4,00,000) per semester to assist with tuition and living expenses.
Key Details and Benefits
The scholarship encourages international students to study in regional Australia, offering them an opportunity to experience a high-quality education while immersing themselves in diverse cultures. The financial support is disbursed after the academic census date each semester, following confirmation of eligibility and academic progress.
The second instalment of AUD 7,500 will be provided within six months of the first payment, ensuring the student maintains satisfactory academic progress and meets all scholarship obligations.
Eligibility Criteria
- To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an international student holding a valid student visa.
- Be a University of Queensland graduate beginning a new programme, such as a Master’s degree.
- Have a full offer to study an eligible programme entirely at UQ’s Gatton campus in 2025.
Application Deadline
Applications are open until noon on 20 January 2025. Prospective students must submit their applications online through the University of Queensland’s official portal.
This initiative underscores Australia’s commitment to fostering global talent and promoting regional education, making it an attractive opportunity for students seeking to study abroad.
