The University of Strathclyde in Scotland has opened applications for its BSc (Hons) Chemistry programme, which will commence in September 2025. The four-year course, aimed at both pure and applied chemistry, invites international students to apply for this comprehensive degree that blends theory with practical chemistry skills.

The programme focuses on unravelling the mysteries of molecular structure and reactivity through pure chemistry, while also applying chemical knowledge to tackle society’s challenges. Students will engage in advanced classes covering areas such as photochemistry, molecular catalysis, polymer chemistry, and environmental chemistry.

According to the university, students will also have the opportunity to switch between related BSc courses within the first three years, including options like Forensic and Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry with Data Science, and Chemistry with Drug Discovery.

In the final year, students will specialise in areas of interest and complete a group research project alongside full-time researchers, addressing real chemistry challenges. Practical laboratory sessions throughout the degree will help students develop key preparative and analytical skills.

Scholarships are available for international students, ranging from £5,000 to £7,000 for the 2025/26 academic year, and the tuition fee for international students is £27,800.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must have completed Class XII with a minimum score of 70-75%, including strong marks in chemistry. An IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 overall, with no individual band below 5.5, is also required.

This programme provides a unique opportunity for students seeking a well-rounded education in chemistry while exploring practical applications across various fields.
