Australia: In a move to make international education more accessible, Southern Cross University (SCU) in Australia has introduced the Access25 initiative, specifically designed for Indian students. This initiative aims to provide high-quality education at an affordable cost, reinforcing educational ties between Australia and India.

Under Access25, the university has set tuition fees at $25,000 per year for international students, ensuring they receive value for their investment while fostering a diverse student community.

SCU Delegation Visits India

Currently, a delegation from Southern Cross University, led by Professor Mary Spongberg, Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, is visiting India to strengthen research and academic collaborations. The team is engaging with Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, and IIBT Bombay to explore partnerships in sustainability and healthcare.

As part of the visit, Professor Christina Aggar will meet with the Asha Community Health and Development Society, while Professors Aggar and Jon Wardle will host discussions on fostering sustainability collaborations.

Expanding Indian Market Presence

Professor Spongberg highlighted SCU’s commitment to deepening its ties with India, stating, “Southern Cross University has always had a strong presence in the Indian market. We aim to expand this through impactful research collaborations, co-designed projects, and shared student experiences.”

Despite recent visa challenges affecting many Australian universities, SCU remains resilient. Professor Spongberg reassured students, saying, “We are open for business and confident that our region, with its strong Indian communities in Northern Rivers and Coffs Harbour, offers a welcoming environment for Indian students.”

With Access25, Southern Cross University reaffirms its dedication to making Australia a top destination for Indian students, offering affordable tuition, strong academic collaborations, and a supportive student community.
