UK-India Young Professionals Scheme 2025: Applications Open for 3,000 Seats

The UK-India Young Professionals Scheme 2025 is now accepting applications, offering 3,000 Indian nationals the opportunity to live, work, study, and travel in the United Kingdom for two years. The British High Commission in New Delhi has announced that the application process will begin with a ballot, open from 18 February to 20 February on the official UK government website.

Eligibility Criteria

Indian citizens aged 18 to 30 who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for this prestigious scheme. To be considered, applicants must first enter the ballot, which is free of charge. Successful entries will be selected randomly, and those chosen will receive an invitation to apply for a visa.

To qualify for the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme 2025, applicants must:

  • Be an Indian citizen aged 18 to 30 years.
  • Hold a qualification equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Have at least £2,530 in savings to support themselves in the UK.

Lindy Cameron, British High Commissioner to India, encouraged young Indians from across the country to apply, stating that the scheme strengthens cultural and professional ties between the UK and India.

Application Process

Those selected in the ballot will receive an email invitation to apply for the visa. They will have 90 days to complete the application process, which includes:

  • Proving their identity
  • Submitting required documents
  • Paying the necessary fees

The application fee is £298, and applicants must also pay a healthcare surcharge of £1,552.

The UK government has clarified that if an applicant submits their application on 16 July 2024, they must arrive in the UK by 15 January 2025 at the latest.

This scheme presents a unique opportunity for young Indian professionals to gain international experience in the UK while strengthening ties between the two nations. Interested applicants should visit gov.uk to enter the ballot before the deadline.
