The University of Canterbury (UC), New Zealand, has announced the renewal of its MBA Leaders Scholarship for another four years, extending the prestigious programme until 2030. This renewal reinforces New Zealand’s commitment to fostering global leadership and innovation among business professionals.

The scholarship now offers recipients access to international learning opportunities, enabling them to collaborate with top institutions such as Stanford University (USA) and Aalto University (Finland). Scholars will have the opportunity to undertake Stanford’s renowned Design Thinking course, enhancing their leadership skills, industry knowledge, and global networks.

Key Benefits of the Scholarship

The Gough Family Foundation MBA Leaders Scholarship, launched in 2021, supports three outstanding candidates each year. It includes:

  • Partial funding for UC MBA course fees
  • An international experience grant to support global learning
  • An Outward Bound Courage in Leadership course for experiential learning
  • One-on-one mentoring with a prominent New Zealand business leader

Recipients are selected based on their leadership potential, commercial acumen, and commitment to driving positive change.

Strengthening Global Leadership

Through this renewal, the University of Canterbury seeks to equip MBA students with the skills to thrive in an evolving global economy. The initiative also reinforces New Zealand’s focus on international collaboration in business education.

By providing access to top global institutions, the scholarship ensures that UC MBA graduates are well-prepared to take on leadership roles in New Zealand and beyond.
