University of Manchester Opens Applications for MA in Digital Media, Culture and Society

The University of Manchester, United Kingdom, has officially opened applications for its MA in Digital Media, Culture and Society for the 2025 academic session. This one-year postgraduate programme offers an interdisciplinary approach to analysing and engaging with digital media, while addressing its societal and cultural impacts.

According to the university, the course equips students with critical analytical skills to examine digital challenges, such as privacy concerns and algorithmic biases. Additionally, it provides essential digital competencies, including data analytics and visualisation.

Eligibility and Admission Criteria

Prospective students must hold a First or Upper Second-class honours degree in a humanities or social science-related field or an international equivalent.

The English language proficiency requirements include:

  • IELTS: 7.0 (with 7.0 in writing and no score below 6.5)
  • TOEFL iBT: 100+ (with no section below 22 and a minimum writing score of 25)

Tuition Fees and Scholarships

The tuition fee for the September 2025 intake is set at £30,000 per year. The University of Manchester is offering multiple scholarships for international students, including:
