Seoul Tech Scholarship 2025: Applications Open for Indian Students

The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) has announced the opening of applications for the Seoul Tech Scholarship 2025, offering international students the opportunity to pursue master’s degrees in engineering and science at top universities in South Korea. The programme, set to commence in September 2025, provides full tuition coverage and financial support. The final selection results are expected in July 2025.
Scholarship Benefits
The Seoul Tech Scholarship 2025 offers:
- Full tuition coverage, with 50% funded by the host university and 50% by SMG.
- KRW 1,000,000 per month as a living allowance.
- A one-time economy-class flight ticket to South Korea.
- Health insurance coverage for the duration of the programme.
- Support for employment and entrepreneurial activities in Korea.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be Indian citizens born after 1985.
- Hold or be completing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science from one of India’s top 100 NIRF-ranked universities.
- Meet the CGPA requirements (minimum 2.64/4.0 or equivalent).
- Have completed their undergraduate studies in English.
- Either have a minimum of 80% marks or rank in the top 20% of their class.

The scholarship covers master’s programmes at leading institutions in South Korea, including:
- Korea University
- Kyung Hee University
- Seokyeong University
- Seoul National University of Science and Technology
- And more
The application deadline is 14 March 2025.
Extended Library Hours in Seoul
In a separate initiative, Seoul has extended the operating hours of 122 public libraries from 6 PM to 10 PM. The move aims to provide additional study time for students and workers while promoting libraries as community spaces. The government hopes this initiative will encourage reading and help reduce household energy costs by offering shared cooling and heating spaces.
