Gracie Elliott, a junior in the Honours Programme at Clarkson University, New York has been awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, joining 1,600 American undergraduate students selected for this esteemed award. Elliott, who majors in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Literature, will use the scholarship to study at Denmark Technical University (DTU) during the Spring 2025 semester.
Elliott expressed her determination to study abroad and credited Clarkson’s Study Abroad Office for guiding her journey: “I’ve always wanted to study abroad, so I connected with Clarkson’s Study Abroad Office early in my sophomore year. DTU was the best fit for my degree and personal goals,” she said.

Academic Excellence Recognised
The scholarship will allow Elliott to pursue coursework at DTU that aligns with her career aspirations in chemical engineering. Clarkson University highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating that Elliott’s success reflects the strong foundation provided by its Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, which is renowned for its research excellence and hands-on learning approach.
“Elliott’s selection as a Gilman Scholar demonstrates how Clarkson’s academic rigour and personalised guidance empower students to achieve extraordinary goals,” the university said in an official statement.

Elliott also expressed her gratitude for the support she received during the application process. She thanked Clarkson’s Honours Programme, the Study Abroad Office, and her family for their encouragement.
