New York, US – The Student-Run Businesses Association (SRBA) has officially recognised the Centre for Student Enterprise (CSE) at Pace University, marking a significant achievement for the institution’s entrepreneurial initiative.

Founded in 2010 by Professor Kathy Winsted and her students, the CSE operates as a consortium of five student-run businesses, employing around 80 Lubin School of Business students. The recognition by SRBA, which supports over 5,000 student entrepreneurs and organisations, highlights the centre’s role in fostering real-world business experience.

Professor Winsted emphasised the impact of the programme on student employability, stating, “All of the student managers tell me that when they go for interviews, employers are most interested in their experience running a student business. One of our original founders of Pace Mart secured a position at J.P. Morgan after showcasing her leadership at the enterprise.”

With plans to expand beyond its five current businesses, the CSE continues to be a vital part of Pace University’s commitment to experiential learning.
