Swansea University has announced its expansion to London in collaboration with QA Higher Education, offering flexible degree programmes from September 2025. The partnership aims to provide students with world-class education while allowing them to balance work, study, and personal commitments.

A New Era of Flexible Learning

Under this collaboration, Swansea University will introduce its programmes across QA Higher Education campuses in key UK metropolitan areas. The initiative reflects the growing demand for flexible study options, particularly among students managing multiple responsibilities.

Professor Judith Lamie, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International Engagement at Swansea University, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative:

“We are delighted to embark on this new venture, which expands our reach and opens new doors for students. This partnership marks a major milestone in our growth, benefiting both UK and international markets.”

Simon Nelson, CEO of QA Higher Education, highlighted the growing demand for flexible learning models:

“Swansea University’s academic excellence, combined with QA’s innovative course delivery, will make top-tier education more accessible and adaptable to students’ needs.”

Focus on Computer Science & Future Courses

The collaboration will launch with Swansea University’s MSc Computer Science programme, addressing the rising demand for skilled professionals in the UK. Market insights indicate a projected 9.2% increase in computer science jobs in London by 2033, compared to a national average of 6%.

More programmes in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Management are expected to be introduced by January 2026, strengthening Swansea University’s presence in London and beyond.

Enhancing Career Prospects for Language Students

In a separate initiative, Swansea University is also enhancing career opportunities for language students. Led by Dr Giovanna Donzelli, the programme ensures students gain industry-aligned skills, internships, and work placements.

“This initiative bridges the gap between academia and industry, equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in the professional world,” said Dr Donzelli.

With these strategic expansions, Swansea University continues to innovate, offering students more opportunities to excel in the evolving global job market.
