Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), Ireland has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Limerick Twenty Thirty (LTT), a real estate developer in Limerick, Ireland for the development of the Cleeves Riverside Quarter, a transformative 10-acre project in the centre of Limerick. The partnership is set to provide significant benefits for both the university and the city.

The project will include 500 accommodation units, with approximately 1,700 students expected to be housed in the development. Half of the accommodation will be dedicated to student housing, while the remaining units will feature office spaces and work areas. A key aspect of the plan is a vibrant, connected public realm, linking the campus and Cleeves Riverside Quarter to the broader city centre. The site will also feature a waterfront office tower, further boosting Limerick’s urban landscape.

President of TUS, Professor Vincent Cunnane, expressed the university’s enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Our participation in the Cleeves Riverside Quarter project aligns with our mission to catalyse sustainable change through education and research.” He further emphasised that the development would help foster growth in Limerick and the wider Midwest region.

Chairman of LTT, Conn Murray, highlighted the economic impact, noting that the project will bring over 1,700 students to the city, contributing to its transformation into one of Ireland’s most vibrant urban centres. He added, “TUS is a perfect partner for us, and this development is a testament to what we can achieve together.”

With this ambitious project, TUS and LTT aim to not only reshape the cityscape but also provide students with modern, accessible accommodation and enhance the educational environment in Ireland’s Midwest region.
