The University of Houston (UH) and Delhi Technological University (DTU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance academic collaboration. The agreement, valid for five years with an option for renewal in 2030, aims to promote research, student exchange, and internship opportunities.

As part of this partnership, students will benefit from co-ops and paid internships arranged by the host university, helping them develop practical skills. Additionally, the institutions will exchange visiting scholars and share research through books, magazines, and academic theses.

The MoU was signed by UH Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Diane Z. Chase, DTU Vice Chancellor Prateek Sharma, UH Cullen College of Engineering Dean Pradeep Sharma, and DTU Dean of International Affairs Pravir Kumar.

DTU officially announced the collaboration on X, stating, “DTU & the University of Houston have signed a General Agreement for Cooperation to foster educational and research collaboration.”

Chase expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “The University of Houston collaborates with top institutions around the globe, and DTU is no exception. This partnership is a win-win opportunity for both universities and the communities they serve.”

UH Dean Pradeep Sharma highlighted the long-term academic benefits, adding, “This MoU will allow us to increase the number of our Master’s programme students. Many of these students may also stay longer to do their PhD.”

Meanwhile, UH medical students from the Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine recently celebrated Match Day, marking a milestone in their careers. Dr. Jonathan McCullers, Dean of the Fertitta College of Medicine, emphasised the significance of the event, saying, “Match Day is a defining moment for our students and a proud milestone for the College. Their success is our success, and we celebrate their achievement with immense pride.”

This agreement marks a significant step in strengthening educational ties between the United States and India, offering new academic and professional growth opportunities for students from both institutions.
