University of Liverpool Opens Applications for Duncan Norman Research Scholarship 2025

The University of Liverpool in England is inviting applications for its prestigious Duncan Norman Research Scholarship for the 2025 academic year. This highly competitive scholarship is available to PhD students and offers a range of benefits, including full tuition fee coverage and a generous maintenance stipend.
The deadline for applications is 4 April 2025. To be eligible, applicants must have a formal offer of study for a PhD programme at the University of Liverpool and should hold or expect to achieve a first-class honours degree (or its equivalent) in their upcoming exams. The scholarship is open to all full-time postgraduate research students, irrespective of nationality, subject area, or tuition fee status.
In addition to covering tuition fees, the scholarship offers an annual maintenance stipend of £22,000, with a top-up if other funding is secured. Scholars also receive a desktop computer or laptop worth up to £1,000, £500 for conference support in years 2 and 3, and free accommodation valued at £4,635 for those living on campus. Students living off-campus are also entitled to an accommodation allowance of the same amount.
Applicants are encouraged to secure additional funding from other sources, as the combination of the Duncan Norman Research Scholarship with other studentships can provide comprehensive financial support throughout their studies.
Please note, current MRes students, those based at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and candidates at XJTLU are not eligible for this scholarship. Prospective applicants must ensure they meet the specific criteria outlined by the University of Liverpool before applying.
