University of Sheffield Opens Admissions for MSc Robotics Course 2025

The University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, has officially opened admissions for its MSc Robotics course for the September 2025 intake. This one-year postgraduate programme is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in robotic systems and automation technologies.

The annual tuition fee for international students is £31,190. Applicants will develop expertise in areas such as robotic sensing, machine intelligence, perception systems, and autonomous planning—skills that are increasingly in demand across sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, aerospace, and smart technologies.

Robotics is a rapidly growing field in the UK and globally, with strong demand for professionals skilled in emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and smart grids.

The MSc Robotics course includes key modules such as Mechatronics for Robotics, Machine Vision, Mobile Robotics and Autonomous Systems, and Data Modelling and Machine Intelligence. Students will also undertake a major Robotics Project and Dissertation.

Eligibility criteria for the course include:

  • A minimum of 60% in a relevant undergraduate degree (Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics).
  • An overall IELTS score of 6.5 with no component below 6.0.
  • The University of Sheffield is also offering 75 International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships for 2025. Each scholarship is worth £10,000 towards tuition and is available to new international students meeting the eligibility criteria. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is 12 May 2025 at 1 pm (UK time).
  • Graduates of this programme will be prepared for diverse roles in the global robotics industry, with hands-on experience using industry-standard tools and CAD systems for designing mechatronic solutions.
